Alternative to Facebook and Twitter?

I will be the first to admit, I have an addiction to social media. I’m not comfortable on either of those platforms Facebook and Twitter, in light of hacking by Russia and North Korea. I know many have abandoned blogs, I have too, maybe I will have better luck maintaining this without all the nastiness that Facebook and Twitter have become. It is my hope to just keep in touch using this blog. It is worth a try to me.

Haven't blogged or sketched in a long time. This was done while watching/listening to t.v. tonight.

I decided to post this before I "overworked" it. First drawing in literally years. I posted this flaws and all. I hope to get back in the routine of drawing a little everyday.

I was a hesitant to read another "coming of age" story but I am glad I did. I loved the first person narration but thought that some of his observations were a bit too mature to be coming from a person of his age. I thought the author captured the time period well and made enough references to current happenings of the 80's for you to be immersed in that time frame. The characters were well fleshed out and I enjoyed the ending's'(other reviewers made reference to 3 endings)I think Mike Wood is an author I will be keeping an eye on.

Making another attempt to draw, draw, draw

I recently bought two Kindle books, "One Drawing a Day' a 6 week course by Veronica Lawlor and "You Can Draw in 30 Days " by Mark Kistler. I have started the exercises and although, they are not something I would put on this blog, they are getting my creative juices flowing. Keep watching this space, LOL

Is anyone blogging anymore or has all been lost to Facebook?

I have never been the most consistent blogger, and now I am beginning to think blogging is passé? If anyone reads this, I would be interested in your thoughts on blogging and Facebook usage

First drawing in over two years...

It has been so long since I had even the slightest inclination to do anything "arty" but I am on vacation and rather than work on emptying out boxes from our move in Oct. 2010, I seized the opportunity to "productively procrastinate"! I know this drawing has many flaws, but I thought I would publish it so that I wouldn't be tempted to 'mess with it' any more. Every time I did 'fix' something I wrecked something else so I said 'time to quit'. I really would like to get back to making art everyday. It felt really good to work on this project.

I saw Lady GaGa in concert

OMG, I went to the Lady GaGa Monster Ball concert in the Amway Arena in Orlando. I was accompanied by my daughter Karen and we had the best time. We stayed at the Crown Plaza Hotel in downtown Orlando. We had a lovely room but on my way out to the concert, I fell coming out of the hotel. Nothing like making a 'grand exit', lol. Fellow monsters, put your paws up!
