It has been a while since I have posted here. Several reasons, I have been hanging out on Facebook and other social networking sites, and I have started school. At the ripe age of 60, soon to be 61, I have gotten an opportunity to go to college, I am studying to be a mental health therapist. It is a little intimidating to go back to school. I haven't been in a classroom in 42 years!
Monday was the first day of classes and I misread my schedule and showed up 3 hrs early. It gave me an opportunity to get my student I.D. card (now I can opt for a senior citizen discount or student discount, LOL), and to explore the library.
I realize I have at least 6 years of study ahead of me, and even if I don't get to practice as a therapist, I am looking forward to this journey. Wish me luck, the future looks bright.

wow - Good on you Trish - a great move and you sound very motivated. I hope that you find time to continue with your art - even doodle when you are taking notes at college !
I look forward to hearing about your studies - and I am sure that all the other first year students were as unsure as you on their first day
Good luck Trish! Don't forget your friends on Drawspace!

I wish you the very best! I started the same program when I was in my 50s so I understand what you're about. Please keep posting so we can follow your progress. - Barbara
Trish, have confidence.I know as i did the same - returning to study in my 50s. Yes, it's a slog at times but such a sense of achievement - and opens up new opportunities you've not dreamed of. (At 60 I was offered and accepted a job as a lecturer at university.)
